Graduation Reflection

I was nervous and I was in a suit for the first time. We got to legends Bistro. There weren’t many people there yet. The tables were all set out there were drinks, cups and everything. Soon people started coming the tables were filling up fast now. In about 10 minutes the tables were full and everyone was there. There was so much talking. The food started coming I got fish and chips because they were the only things I was allowed to get but it was very nice. After that we got dessert I didn’t really like it but it was okay. When we were all done we left and started walking to school.

We were at school we were lined up in roll order it took about 15-10 minutes until we walked in. there was music playing when we were walking in but I doubt that anyone heard it. We all sat down. First the school captains got up to talk. After they were done the graduation sheets were given out one by one people got up to get it and one by one I got closer to me. I was thinking which way to go the people on my left told me to go left but I was thinking of going right once it got up to me I chose to go right. When it was all done the school captains got up and then Matt come up to present the specialist awards and then Rebecca got up to present the Excellence award the Dux award and the Academic award. It was getting closer to the surprize thing.

We started watching the interviews the four questions they asked was What was your best memory of school, What was your most embarrassing moment, What will you take to high school and What are your feelings about high school. I should have said that the interview was the most embarrassing moment of my life. After the videos Grace came up to give her speech. She was chosen to give her speech by the teachers. After all that all the year sixes went outside to do the dance it was so embarrassing and my mum was recording the whole thing. I know she will never let me forget about the dance. But that night was really fun even if my mum can embarrass me whenever she wants.

What makes this book good?

Well I think that the humor in this book makes it more interesting and it tells you what the people in that country are experiencing. This is also a good book because it is based on what people have to do to get out of the war and how dangerous it could be to try and run away from the war.

What would make this book better?

This book could have more action and adventure and they should try to make this book a bit longer because it is only 180 pages long. They could have told you more about the family when they got to Christmas Island and tell you if they ever get into Australia. But that is all I would change because I think it is a good and enjoyable book to read because it tells you about the war in that country

What’s the most important thing the author is trying to tell you?

The author is trying to tell you that you are very lucky to be in Australia because those people live in fear all the time. He also wants us to know that we are very lucky to get a good education and you should be very grateful of what you have right now because other people are less fortunate then the people in the war.

Why did the author write this book?

He wrote this so we feel sorry for the people and realize that we are really lucky to be hear in Australia. He also wrote this to tell us all the terrible things that people go through to escape the war. He also wants to tell you why people would go through all this because this does happen in real life and you should be very happy with what you have.

What does the audience need to know to understand and enjoy the book?

The audience would need to understand what other families have gone through at that time of war. You would also have to understand the humour in the book and that’s all I think you would need to know to understand and enjoy this book.

I’ve had the mirror for 30 years now and then it does this. Let me start from the start. I was checking the mirror with my friend to see if there were any cracks. I left the room for about 5 minutes and when I got back my friend was nowhere to be seen and I swear that the mirror had gotten bigger. He came out of the house he started to run at us.

“We have to run” said Jessie.

He was catching up we started to run. We ran into a forest and stopped.

“Have we lost him” said John. They both looked around to see if he was there, a cold hand touched John and he screamed like a little girl, embarrassed he told Jessie to be quiet and not to scream. The man told them his name was Mike he explained that, that man was his brother  and at that moment a knife was sent straight though Mike’s back.

Solve: I didn’t really guess because I worked it out in my head and then improved my answer and the last step was checking it

Summary: I found this very easy because all I had to do was do it in my head and then improve my answer and then check it

Solve: Firstly I guess which one would be cheaper and then check it to see if it was right and then I improved my answer by checking it again.

Summary: I found it a bit easy because all I had to do was add and compare.

Solve: I worked backwards and did 4 time something equals 36 so my answer was 9

Summary: I got a bit confused because I went blank and then I got it.

Solve: I found out how many times 8 goes into 56 and it went into it 7 times and that is how I got my answer

Summary: I thought that this was a bit easy because I knew my 8 times tables

Solve: I found out a number that goes evenly into it five times and that is how I found my answer
